Smart Storage

Smart Storage is an automated material storage and handling system built to reduce downtime, minimize manual labor, and optimize floor space.

What Is Smart Storage?

// Overview

US Laser Smart Storage is a modular sheet metal storage and automation system designed to connect raw material storage, sheet loading, laser cutting, and finished-sheet removal within one coordinated production workflow.

Available in compact and high-throughput configurations, Smart Storage automatically transfers raw sheets to the laser cutting machine and removes processed sheets after cutting. This reduces manual material handling, improves production continuity, and helps manufacturers keep sheet metal organized and ready for production.

Our System Includes

Six-Layer Material Storage Tower
Automated Loading and Unloading Gantry
Vacuum and Fork Transfer Tooling

Where Smart Storage Fits?

[01]

Job Shops and Custom Fabricators

Smart Storage helps job shops manage changing materials, sheet thicknesses, and production schedules more efficiently. The compact S1 configuration is particularly well suited for shops seeking automated sheet loading and unloading without installing a full storage tower.

[02]

OEM and Contract Manufacturing

OEMs and contract manufacturers can use Smart Storage to maintain a more consistent flow of raw material into laser cutting operations. Automated material handling supports repeatable production while providing flexibility for different part designs and order quantities.

[03]

High-Throughput Sheet Metal Production

The S2 configuration is designed for continuous industrial production where laser uptime and material availability directly affect output. Its six-layer storage tower, stacker, and dual raw material trolleys help keep materials moving between jobs.

[04]

Multi-Machine Laser Cutting Operations

Smart Storage S2 can be configured to support two laser cutting machines within a coordinated material-handling layout. This arrangement is ideal for manufacturers expanding laser capacity while centralizing sheet storage and material movement.

[05]

Mixed-Material Production Environments

Manufacturers processing mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and different sheet thicknesses benefit from having materials staged and available near the laser. The S2 system’s two-trolley configuration simplifies preparation for upcoming jobs and material changes.

Space-Conscious Manufacturing Facilities

Smart Storage S1 provides automated sheet handling in a smaller and simpler layout. It is a strong option for manufacturers that want to increase laser automation while working within limited production floor space.

The S1-A is a compact automatic sheet loading and unloading system designed for a single fiber laser cutting machine. Its side-positioned transfer system, raw material trolley, and finished-product trolley provide a practical automation solution for smaller production environments.

The S1-B provides the same compact loading and unloading capabilities through an alternative overhead gantry layout. This configuration can be arranged around the laser machine to accommodate different production-floor layouts, operator access requirements, and material-flow directions.

This S2 configuration combines one fiber laser cutting machine with a six-layer material storage tower, automatic stacker, two raw material trolleys, and finished-product handling. It is designed for high-throughput manufacturers that require frequent material changes and continuous production.

The dual-machine S2 configuration connects a centralized material storage and handling system with two fiber laser cutting machines. Shared storage and automated sheet transfer allow manufacturers to expand cutting capacity while maintaining an organized, coordinated material workflow.

How Smart Storage Works Within Your System

Smart Storage is engineered to integrate with compatible US Laser flat-sheet fiber laser cutting machines. The system coordinates sheet loading, exchange-table operation, cutting cycles, and unloading to create a connected automation workflow for one or two machines.

(02)

Raw Material Storage and Staging

Material is staged on raw material trolleys or stored within the S2 six-layer storage tower. The system retrieves and positions the required sheet stack based on the production workflow.

(03)

Automated Sheet Loading and Unloading

The transfer gantry uses vacuum cups and fork tooling to lift sheets from the raw material stack, load the laser cutting machine, and remove processed material without requiring manual transfer.

(04)

Finished-Sheet Handling

After cutting, processed sheets are transferred to a dedicated finished-product trolley. This creates an organized handoff point for part separation, sorting, bending, welding, or other downstream manufacturing operations.
